Format for One to One Tuition
On arrival a beverage is offered so you can relax after the journey. The answer phone will be switched on after your arrival so that you have the undivided attention of Sue.
We will explore your expectations of the course, discuss your other craft skills and how the course will assist in complementing those skills. This enables Sue to focus on the course objectives.
There will be samples of completed work that has been spun, knitted, crocheted, woven, dyed, rug hooking, wet felt and needled felted work, as appropriate, for the particular One to One tuition. This work is available for discussion and examination these items may not be taken away by the student.
Discussion will take place with the student and Sue, to understand how an item has been made and what is involved. What diameter yarn was used to make that item and why that yarn was chosen for that particular project. What dyeing processes were used and whether that is appropriate for this particular course and discussion of what dyes should be used. The information gained from this discussion will focus the student on the objective of this tuition.
There will be a break after two hours tuition to ascertain that the objectives of the course are being met.

Please advise Sue if you are vegetarian, vegan or have special dietary requirements in advance of the course.
At various stages throughout the one to one tuition, you will be asked whether the tuition is fulfilling expectations, so that problems can be addressed whilst the course is in progress.
If the course work is progressing slower than anticipated, advice will be offered as to whether the tuition should be extended further that day or left for another day. This is a difficult situation when weaving on the loom, as another student might need the loom for their course on a following day, and your time and budget might be affected. Discussion will take place as appropriate.
It is advisable that if the one to one course is 6 hours duration or more, that the time should be taken over a two day period, as you must drive home safely or take overnight accommodation to rest and prepare for a second day. Equipment provided for the course may not be taken away in between a two day event.
You may take away whatever you have produced during the course. Further advice will be given as required, regarding washing and drying as appropriate following the course.
