If you would like to learn how  to Weave. Hilltop can offer the perfect answer.  Over the years Sue has taught hundreds of people, of all ages and abilities, how  to weave. Beware though, it is a life changing skill, once the bug hits, weaving, along with all the other textile craft skills, is compulsive!

All Hilltop courses are designed for the individual and if you are considering a course we strongly recommend that you contact Sue and speak to her about what you want to achieve. Sue can help you achieve your dreams, don’t be afraid to ask.

Sue’s ’ONE TO ONE’ TUITION  includes bespoke ‘One to One’ tuition in your chosen craft, the use of all materials and equipment. There are no hidden extras. A  ploughman’s lunch is provided. A typical course is as follows:

LEARN TO SET UP A 4 SHAFT LOOM 8 hours tuition includes, designing an item to weave, suggestions include scarf or place mats or tapestry, choosing suitable yarns, calculating quantities required for project, using a warping frame, chaining onto the loom, threading up the loom and beginning to weave the project.  Please note that the project will not be fully woven in this time period, extra time should be allowed.

Price: £144.00 per person (£18 per hour)

TRYING VARIOUS LOOMS which have all ready been set up ready for use.  4 hours tuition includes trying, peg loom weaving on a 12“ wide loom using fibres, rags, plastic bags and yarns for quick texture or background weaving to accommodate other skills, sample loom weaving a 6“ square will be achieved and weaving on a 4 shaft loom which has been set up ready to use.  Please talk to Sue.

 Price: £72.00 per person. (£18 per hour)

SPECIAL TECHNIQUES in weaving.  If you can weave and need to know how to weave Boundweave, Double Cloth,   Tapestry pictures or just need to know more patternings to thread up and weave then speak to Sue for the best way forward.
